Telephone Reassurance

Telephone Reassurance

This service is ideal for anyone who is not able to leave their own home, socially isolated or lacking caregiver support.

We can help!

While the world is embracing a new normal, Telephone Reassurance provides peace of mind for clients and their loved ones with a social phone call without face-to-face interactions.  This can be a daily check on their well being and provide a social interaction by a volunteer.

Please note:

Telephone Reassurance service is ongoing.

How long are the calls?

Telephone Reassurance calls may last between 5-10 minutes or longer depending on the nature of the call. Calls that are more social in nature tend to last longer. Calls that are a daily check in on someone’s well being are more frequent, and are shorter in length.

Cost

There is no charge for this service.

When are the calls made?

Telephone Reassurance calls can be made any time during the day, 7 days a week, depending on the needs of the client and the availability of the volunteer. Calls are made at a mutually agreed upon time.

Who makes Telephone Reassurance calls?

Volunteers call clients on an agreed upon day and time. Clients receive weekly calls from the same volunteer on the assigned day. This creates a rapport and consistency. When a volunteer is absent, and unable to make the call, the volunteer will inform the client and the client will receive a call when the volunteer returns. For prolonged absences, the client may be re-matched with another volunteer.

Telephone Reassurance Client

I have been using the service for years. Everyone has been so nice and so concerned about how I am. If I was in the hospital they call me and leave messages inquiring if I am doing okay. You cannot find better people. It really makes a difference in my day as I don’t get many calls and don’t speak to a lot of people. It makes all the difference the world. That is why I have been using this service for all this time. It is the only contact I have with the outside world.

Telephone Reassurance Client

I have a volunteer call me once a week from Community Care. It is a reassurance call. The volunteer I have is amazing. I always look forward to his call. No matter how low I am feeling, he always knows how to make me smile and laugh.

Telephone Reassurance Client

I am so grateful especially during this time that I can count on a friendly call from a volunteer at CCD.
