Human Resources Coordinator, Port Perry Administration Office

Part-time 25 hours/week

Under the direction of the Manager, Human Resources, the Human Resources Coordinator performs functions to support the organization’s human resources, including recruitment, on-boarding, orientation, employee benefits, employee health and safety, human resources information maintenance and participates in projects as assigned.

The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for supporting the recruitment, on-boarding and orientation process through the timely preparation and distribution of job postings; liaising with external organizations to ensure a comprehensive pool of applicants; coordinating the screening of suitable and qualified applicants; completing reference checks and confirming credentials; drafting employment offers; coordinating onboarding of new hires; communicating staff entitlements and mandatory training requirements and assisting in monthly orientations and in-services.

The Human Resources Coordinator provides support and assistance in revising and maintaining HR information systems, updating the employee handbook, circulating health and safety factsheets, preparing human resources reports and surveys and overall general assistance to in special projects.

Qualifications required:         

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management and three years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Computer applications competence – MS Office and HR database skills
  • Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check and ability to travel within Durham Region

The successful candidate will demonstrate commitment to working in a safe manner and promote the health and safety of all staff, volunteers, clients and the community as outlined within CCD policies

Compensation: $19.73 – $22.85/hour; 3 weeks vacation (prorated to hours of work); 13 paid (including stat.) holidays; health, insurance and pension benefits as eligible
