Accessibility Policy

Our Commitment to Accessibility January 2022

Community Care Durham (CCD) is committed to ensuring equal access and participation for all people with disabilities. We are committed to treating people with disabilities in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence.

We believe in integration, and we are committed to meeting the needs of people with disabilities in a timely manner. We will do so by removing and preventing barriers to accessibility requirements and by meeting our accessibility requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and the Ontario Human Rights Code.

Our accessibility standards are consistent with the principles of independence, dignity, integration and equality of opportunity and we ensure that all individuals have access to services despite their disabilities.

This policy statement along with the procedures and practices of CCD are monitored for barriers to accessibility and modified as necessary in efforts to implement systemic processes to prevent, identify, minimize and remove barriers to accessing services and to evaluate the effectiveness of our actions.

Documents related to the Accessibility Standards for Customer Service are available upon request.

Feedback to CCD can be provided in person, by telephone, by mail or by email. A response will be provided within seven (7) days.
