Created by the Government of Ontario in 2006, the Local Health Integration Networks in Ontario the Local Health Integration Networks in Ontario work with local health providers and community members to determine the health service priorities of Ontario's regions. Community Care Durham is part of the Central East Local Health Integration Network.
The United Way - Centraide Movement had its roots in Canada in the early part of the 20th century. Since the mid 70s, the United Way - Centraide Movement in Canada has grown and adapted quickly to embrace the diversity of evolving communities. Each United Way - Centraide is an independent, community-based organization.
