Community Care Durham realizes this is a challenging time for our community. We have an obligation to serve our community and help them safely get through this unprecedented time.
We’re monitoring the status of COVID-19 closely in Ontario. We’ve had no incidence of COVID-19 among our staff, volunteers and clients. However, we’re taking precautions for their safety. We’ll continue to provide further updates.
Our essential services are ongoing and we are dedicated to providing support during the pandemic. This includes our Assisted Living and Respite Program that provides services to seniors and caregivers in the community.
We are continuing Meals on Wheels, Telephone Reassurance and Transportation drives to critical appointments. Additionally, we developed the NEW “Community to Table” Food box delivery service for seniors and those who have physical disabilities.
In the short-term, we have paused non-essential services such as our Adult Day Program, Luncheon Out, Foot Care Clinics, Friendly Visiting, COPE Mental Health Support Groups, Exercise & Falls Prevention Classes and Home Help/Home Maintenance to diminish the risk to our clients, staff and volunteers. We thank you for your cooperation and understanding during these difficult and uncertain times.
The Ontario Government announced a new enhanced COVID-19 self-screening tool, which provides guidance on where to seek care based on individual needs.
We care about our community and we are committed to providing support for the most vulnerable. We are all in this together!
