Program Assistant, Assisted Living
Part Time (20 hr./wk.)

Community Care Durham seeks an experienced team player who is able to work independently, demonstrates commitment to the values and mission of  Community Care Durham, and has the proven ability to provide a high level of administrative support and Personal Support Worker staffing coordination. 

This position is responsible for adminstrative support and reports to the Program Manager, Assisted Living at the Oshawa Assisted Living location. The Program Assistant is responsible for:

Qualifications required:

$18.01 - $20.87/hr.; 6% vacation pay.

Applicants should be prepared to provide a representative sample of administrative work for review and/or satisfactorily complete a computer applications performance test as part of the interview.

Providing point of contact liaison and general information to clients, staff and the public
Providing key support in the creation, revision and maintenance of correspondence, etc.
Recording, transcribing and distributing minutes
Providing key support to the receipt and analysis of statistical and other program information
Creating and updating databases
Providing program support; other related duties as assigned
Post secondary diploma in office administration and knowledge of community support services and/or other acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office computer skills required; knowledge of CIMS an asset
Three years' experience in administrative support
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work as a team player or team leader/coordinator
Sensitivity to the needs of the elderly and persons with disabilities
Satisfactory  police record check including vulnerable sector screening
Licensed vehicle and ability to travel within Durham Region
Ability to work afternoons, Monday to Friday
Ability to share on-call responsibility, including holidays and weekends for PSW scheduling
