Assisted Living Personal Support Worker
Scheduled Part Time Team Lead Position
(49 hr./ 2 wk., evening shift)

We are looking for an experienced Personal Support Worker to assume a
PSW Team Lead role in our Assisted Living service. The position is currently
scheduled to the evening shift at the Oshawa location. Preference will be
given to those currently working in the Assisted Living program and who
have a demonstrated reliable record of attendance and punctuality.

The Assisted Living for High Risk Seniors initiative is a 24/7 program that
enables the community to better assist those seniors with complex needs to
remain in their own homes, with suitable supports. Community Care Durham
currently provides Assisted Living services at sites in Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa
and Clarington.

The Assisted Living PSW Team Lead serves as a support for the PSW staff
under the supervision of the Assisted Living Program Manager, and works in
cooperation with the A.L. Service Coordinator to ensure staffing
arrangements. The PSW Team Lead also provides assistance to clients,
including personal care, homemaking, security checks; and assisting with
routine living activities, in accordance with Community Care Durham’s
policies and procedures.

Qualifications required:

· Personal Support Worker certificate or acceptable equivalent (e.g.
RPN)
· Experience in the community and Assisted Living program
· Use of a licensed vehicle with $1,000,000 public liability insurance;
maintenance of a Class G Ontario driving licence and clean Drivers
Abstract
· Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check
· Sensitivity to the needs of the frail elderly and persons with
disabilities, including challenges in cognition
· Must be willing and able to work out of any Assisted Living program
site
· Must be willing and able to lift approximately 50 lbs., bend, stretch,
stand for extended periods of time; climb stairs; reach, twist, sit, walk
and/or run
· Must be willing and able to provide fill-in coverage at any point during
the 24 hour period on an as needed basis
· Physical ability sufficient to assist with client transfers and activities of
daily living
· Experience with team lead, scheduling or staff supervision preferred

Compensation: $19.00 - $21.37/ hr.; employment benefits, insurance and
pension; 3 weeks paid vacation (based on hours of work)
