Personal Support Worker
Full Time (35 hr./wk.)

We are looking for an experienced Personal Support Worker to join the team
providing assistance to clients receiving a variety of services, including
Access to Primary Care, Assisting Living for High Risk Seniors, In-Home
Respite, Home at Last, Home First, Long-Term Emergency Avoidance and
Supportive Housing.

Reporting to the Program Manager, the position is currently scheduled to the
evening shift at the Oshawa location. Community Care Durham reserves the
right to schedule staff throughout Durham Region and reschedule based on
client and program needs.

The PSW provides client support at the client’s home and community in
accordance with Community Care Durham’s policies and procedures, and
communicates with the Manager and/or supervisor as directed.

Qualifications required:

· Personal Support Worker certificate or acceptable equivalent (e.g.
RPN)
· Previous experience supporting clients in the community
· Ability to work evenings, night shifts, weekends, holidays as
scheduled
· Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check
· Demonstrated record of reliable attendance and punctuality
· Licenced vehicle and the ability and willingness to drive within
Durham Region with $1,000,000 public liability insurance; Class G
Ontario licence; clean Drivers Abstract
· Willing and able to perform client transfers and activities of daily
living; lift up to 50 lbs.; bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of
time; climb stairs; reach, twist, sit, walk and/or run
· Sensitive to the needs of the frail elderly and persons with disabilities,
including challenges in cognition
· Comfortable working alone in the community (with supervisor on call)
and/or as part of a team

Compensation: $17.42 - $19.00/ hr.; 3 weeks' vacation; 13 paid (including
stat.) holidays; health, insurance and pension benefits when eligible
