Community Care Durham is recruiting an experienced Executive Assistant to begin work in June 2017 on a part time basis.

Reporting to the Executive Director at the Oshawa/Whitby (Sunray) location, the Executive Assistant provides support to senior management and the Board of Directors, ensuring strategic communication with the Board of Directors; strategic communication with government and other stakeholders; planning and coordinating of organizational events and activities related to special events and awards; ensuring internal communication systems; and independently performing daily tasks associated with the Executive Director's office.

The Executive Assistant undertakes research and analysis; coordinates and compiles funding grant or special project processes and submissions; prepares Board minutes; coordinates and prepares reports; and supports the initiation and successful outcome of delegated projects.

The Executive Assistant maintains the confidential documents and corporate seal of the organization, maintains standards for Community Care Durham "branding", e.g. templates, etc., and may support community relations as delegated.

Compensation: 
$22.69 - $26.28 per hour; 3 weeks' vacation (prorated to hours of work); 13 paid (including stat.) holidays; health, pension and insurance benefits when eligible as per policy.

Executive Assistant
Part Time (21 hours/week)

Post-secondary education and five years' experience in senior management support
Working knowledge of not-for-profit governance and management and a generalist background including: senior administrative support; project management; writing grant proposals and business plans; special events coordination; group facilitation and community relations
Given the wide range of responsibilities and the requirement for reliability, the incumbent possesses superior teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills, flexibility and personal qualities that result in a high level of productivity in the absence of strictly predictable assignments
Demonstrated problem-solving skills; initiative and the ability to meet deadlines
Ability to organize work and set priorities, maintaining attention to detail
Ability to make decisions within general direction and guidelines
Proven advanced proficiency in MS Office applications
Supportive of the Mission and Values of Community Care Durham
The position offers and requires some flexibility in hours and days of work
Ability to travel within Durham Region regularly and the GTA occasionally
Available to begin work mid-June 2017
